ANNOUNCING DIGITAL LAUNCH OF FILIPINOTOWN MAGAZINE AND LAUNCH EVENT

First Digital Issue Debuts and Launch Event Takes Place

[SEATTLE, WA - September 2023] - FILIPINOTOWN Magazine (FTM) announces the digital launch of its first issue celebrating the Beauty, Strength and Brilliance of our Filipino American community here in Seattle. This community event will be held on Sunday, October 15th, 5pm-9pm at the historic Filipino Community Center during Filipino American History Month.

FILIPINOTOWN Magazine will serve as a new, and much needed platform, to honor and recognize members of our Fil-Am community with elegance and artistry usually found in sophisticated magazines and specialty publications. Founder and Editor Terrence Santos states, “I created this magazine for fellow Filipino/a/x Americans to discover and inspire each other. The magazine highlights how deeply embedded our communities are in any and every industry – locally, in cities across the United States, and globally.”

Seattle’s Filipino American community will be the focus of FILIPINOTOWN Magazine’s first issue. The digital copy will debut on October 15th, 2023 with print copies arriving November/December 2023. With a special  annual release FTM will then feature other Fil-Am communities throughout the diaspora, celebrating one FILIPINOTOWN at a time from different cities. FTM plans to create multiple volumes for each city – or Filipinotown/Little Manila – in the effort to highlight and archive Fil-Am stories and accomplishments for years to come.

FILIPINOTOWN Magazine will create a dual experience for its readers – print and digital. The print issues will feature personalities and stories through refined photographic perspectives. Each print issue will then be reimagined and extended into the digital space with filmed interviews, documentaries, theatrical films, podcasts, online comics, and more. This dual approach helps tell the wide array of stories within the Fil-Am community through interesting and dynamic ways.

About FILIPINOTOWN Magazine – FILIPINOTOWN Magazine is created and led by Terrence Jeffrey Santos. He is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and former marketing design director of visual media for the University of Washington. Santos combines his storytelling experience with a team of talented Filipino/a/x photographers, designers, and artisans. Together with his team, Santos aspires to provide the Filipino American community a professional and inspiring platform that cultivates a deeper sense of belonging and cultural identity. He also wants to show future generations that they can thrive in any and every path they choose in life.
